Looking to achieve straight teeth without braces? The Invisalign treatment repositions the teeth using a series of clear plastic aligners that are custom made specifically for you. Unlike fixed braces, there are no metal brackets or wires involved. Each aligner is made from medical-grade, ultra-thin plastic, making them virtually invisible to the untrained eye.
With Invisalign, achieving the smile you’ve always dreamed of is no big deal. Aligners must be worn for at least 22 hours per day, and each set is swapped for a new one every two weeks. Small differences in each aligner create gentle pressure that gradually moves the teeth millimeter by millimeter until they reach the desired position.
The best thing about Invisalign treatment… it’s completely removable! The transparent aligners can be taken out when you eat, drink, brush, and floss, making it much easier to maintain good dental hygiene. For this reason, Invisalign is great for people in the public eye or those who are image-conscious.
Since the company’s conception in 1998, Invisalign technology has been used to transform over 8 million smiles across the globe. Under the supervision of your orthodontist, the aligners can correct the position of crooked, flared, and gapped teeth in as little as 6 months! What’s more, your friends probably won’t even notice you’re wearing them.
If you’re thinking about undergoing orthodontic treatment but you’re concerned about the aesthetic implications, we can help. Here at Perfect Smiles Orthodontics, we’re a board-certified dental practice. Our lead orthodontist, Dr. Chin, has been practicing orthodontics since 1997 and over the years has helped hundreds of patients to correct their smiles with Invisalign.
So how does it work? At your initial consultation, the orthodontist will assess your teeth and ask about your treatment goals and concerns. From here, they will recommend a variety of treatment options, which may include Invisalign and other types of invisible brace. If you’re happy to go ahead with Invisalign, the orthodontist will use innovative iTero technology to take a 3D scan of your teeth. This is then sent to the Invisalign laboratory.
Using detailed experience from over 8 million cases, a treatment plan is formed that establishes a unique set of movements for your teeth. This is called a ClinCheck. At this point, the orthodontist may propose some refinements to the ClinCheck to ensure that it meets your treatment goals. You’ll also be able to see a projection of your anticipated outcome, which is unlike any other form of orthodontic treatment.
Once you and the orthodontist are happy, the aligners will be signed off, printed, and delivered to our Perth practice. The whole process takes around 2 to 3 weeks.
Following this, you’ll be invited to the practice to have your aligners fitted. Each set of aligners must be worn day and night for approximately two weeks. Although each case is different, most people require 20 to 30 aligners to achieve their desired outcome. The orthodontist will review your progress every 2 to 6 weeks. For most patients, Invisalign alone is enough to straighten the teeth. However, some people may require a short period wearing a fixed appliance in order to achieve the best results.
Invisalign has a version that is exclusively designed for teenagers known as Invisalign for teens. This treatment method involves the use of clear plastic aligners that are almost unnoticeable, thus ensuring that none of your peers can tell that you are undergoing orthodontic treatment
Invisalign® treatment is highly appreciated by our adult patients due to the clear aligners’ features. With Invisalign® clear aligners, you can have treatment without anyone noticing as the plastic is transparent. Additionally, the aligners are removable, allowing you to take them out during important meetings or meal times
It’s not just adults who can benefit from Invisalign treatment. Invisalign Teen is the adolescent-specific alternative to Invisalign Full. Each custom-made aligner features innovative wear indicators and eruption monitors that allow parents and orthodontists to actively monitor teens’ development.
With Invisalign Teen, your teenager doesn’t have to sacrifice their favorite hobbies – the aligners can be removed for sports, eating, and playing musical instruments. What’s more, you don’t have to worry about your forgetful teen remembering to reapply the appliance afterward, as Invisalign Teen can monitor this too! The blue dot indicator, which fades to clear with wear, ensures that teens are wearing their aligners for the requisite 22 hours per day.
We know that teenagers are constantly on the move, so our Invisalign Teen package includes six replacement aligners at no extra cost.

It may be difficult to believe that a series of clear plastic aligners can have the same impact as fixed metal braces, but it’s true. Invisalign has been tried and tested on over 8 million people over the last decade, and it’s proven to be an effective solution to a myriad of problems. That being said, Invisalign is generally not suitable for cases of severe malocclusion. Instead, fixed braces are a better solution.
First and foremost, Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible. You don’t have to feel self-conscious about having orthodontic treatment, because nobody will know you’re wearing them! For this reason, Invisalign is extremely popular amongst celebrities, working professionals, and self-conscious teens alike.
Another primary benefit is the fact that Invisalign is removable. If you have a red carpet to walk down, or a school prom to attend, you don’t have to worry about orthodontic braces ruining your photos. Removable appliances also mean it’s easy to keep your teeth and gums clean and healthy.
The treatment time for any orthodontic treatment varies from patient to patient, and Invisalign is no different. For minor cases using Invisalign i7, treatment may be as short as three months. For severe cases using Invisalign Full, whereas, treatment may take up to 18 months. On a whole, Invisalign treatment is generally faster than other types of brace.
The cost of Invisalign depends on a variety of factors – the amount of correction your teeth require, the length of treatment, the number of aligners necessary, and the experience of the dentist. Generally speaking, the most affordable package we offer is Invisalign i7, which consists of 7 custom-made aligners, and the most expensive solution is Invisalign Full, which features an unlimited number of aligners.
Invisalign works by applying gentle pressure to the teeth over an extended period of time. At first, this may take a little getting used to but the feeling will get more comfortable in time. Most patients describe it as a feeling of pressure rather than pain, which is a sign that the aligners are working properly.
