We use a highly sophisticated digital radiology (x-ray) system which minimises radiation exposure for our patients. Our radiology machine was designed specifically for orthodontic treatment and automatically adjusts for each patient to obtain accruate images every time. The digital radiograph can be viewed immediately and downloaded directly into your electronic record. We can even email a copy of your images to your dentist.
Please see the Planmeca website for further information on our digital radiology system.
iTero is a new orthodontic scanning technology. Using the latest developments in intraoral scanning, iTero accurately scans your teeth as part of your orthodontic assessment- eliminating the need for uncomfortable impressions. At Perfect Smiles Orthodontics, the iTero scanner has replaced initial moulds, and by doing this, we have been able to create a much more comfortable and pleasant experience.
For patients with Invisalign treatment, an iTero scanner will be used instead of an uncomfortable mould. With the in-built outcome simulator software, the iTero scanner will show you how your teeth will improve over the course of the treatment.
Trios 3 is our latest intraoral scanner that's faster, offers better accuracy and comfort in getting your digital impressions.
Electronic Patient Records
Our orthodontic practice utilises an electronic patient record system that securely stores and encrypts your data onto our electronic server. Our practice management system, Dolphin Management, seamlessly integrates with all your 3D and digital images, including your radiographs and digital models.
One of the most appealing features of our system is that you are able to receive your orthodontic care at any of our locations , as we are always able to remotely access your patient data.
As part of every new patient assessment, we use the latest digital cameras to allow our team to photograph your face and the inside of your mouth easily and comfortably. The photographic image can be viewed and enlarged on our computers using a specialised orthodontic software program called Dolphin Imaging. These photographic images are useful in discussing your needs for treatment and are integrated together with your digital radiographs in Dolphin. We also use them throughout the treatment program to monitor your progress and watch the transformation take place.
Please see the Dolphin Imaging Website for further information on this specialist orthdontic software.
